Hartland Piano
A family-owned piano dealership and music education center in Hartland, Wisconsin.
Hartland Piano is the exclusive showroom for new premium Yamaha, Shigeru Kawai, and restored Steinway pianos. We have been placing instruments in homes, studios, schools, and churches throughout Southeastern Wisconsin since 1975.
Ellen McDonald is a professional pianist accompanying students for contests, leading worship services, and performing as a cocktail pianist for private events in the Milwaukee area. Her husband Dr. Larry McDonald is a Registered Piano Technician (RPT), composer, and educator holding a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Composition and Master of Music in Classical Guitar from UW Madison.
Together, they are the owners and managers of the Hartland Music Building and the administrators of the Waukesha County Conservatory of Music located in the Hartland Music Building, educating over 2000 students each week.

Our History
From Corrao Music to Hartland Piano and Conservatory
In 1975, Anthony Corrao and his family opened a small music business in downtown Hartland, Wisconsin. With two small studios, a couple of guitars, a selection of record albums, and a smattering of other musical instruments, Larry McDonald, a family friend, joined the business to begin his private teaching career. A few years later with his new wife Ellen, an established piano instructor and performer from Oconomowoc, they purchased "Corrao Music" and changed the name to Hartland Music.
Fast forward to the year 2000, when the community-minded McDonalds moved the growing Hartland Music retail store and the now-established Waukesha County Conservatory of Music lesson community of 2000 music students to the current location on Hwy 83.
Following the 2020 pandemic changes and the resurgence of pianos and music lessons, the McDonalds followed their dreams to re-open as Hartland Piano and Conservatory. The renovated space features two showrooms of Yamaha, Kawai and reconditioned used pianos, digital keyboards, 40 enhanced private lesson studios, a full piano repair shop, and a concert performance venue.
2025 begins with the exciting opening of the "Diamond Piano Showroom," as Hartland Piano is chosen as the authorized showroom for Premium Yamaha CF and S series Concert Grand Pianos, the Shigeru Kawai Master Concert Grand Pianos, and the distinguished Fully Restored Steinway Pianos from the European Meyer Piano Company.

Since 2000, The Hartland Music building on Hwy 83 has been the center for music retail and education in the Lake Country area. The beautiful, custom-built, 15,000 sq.ft. facility houses multiple businesses all dedicated to enriching the lives of those in our community with music.
