With the Yamaha Smart Pianist app, you have full control over your instrument using your smart device. Easily choose from a wide range of instrument sounds and switch between various virtual performance spaces, such as a concert hall or cathedral, enhancing your acoustic environment. The app is available at the App Store and Google Play.
Play even if you can’t read music
Stream Lights guide you as you effortlessly follow musical notes and their timing with four LED lights moving towards the keys, ensuring accurate and synchronized playing as you learn your favorite songs. Use the Guide function to pause the song until you play the correct keys, helping you learn easily.
Explore a library of songs and add your own
The Clavinova CSP-200 Series features a wide range of songs, from popular and classical tunes to practice exercises. Easily access sheet music through the Yamaha Smart Pianist app and use Stream Lights to help guide your practice sessions. Instantly play your favorite tunes with Audio to Score
When you want to play a song, but don't know where to begin or what to do, use the Audio-to-Score feature in the Smart Pianist App. Audio-to-Score analyzes MP3s and other audio song data and creates chord charts with over 50 varieties of accompaniment to suit your playing level. All you have to do is follow the Stream Lights.

GrandTouch-S™ keyboard
Our latest keyboard features a broad dynamic range and faithful response to every nuance of touch that puts a wide expanse of tone—from delicate to bold—at your fingertips. The highly consistent grand piano hammers replicate the pleasing response felt when the hammers strike the strings, enabling precise control of the tone. Highly absorbent synthetic-ivory white keys and synthetic-ebony black keys prevent slipping even during extended play and feel just like those of a grand piano.
Design philosophy
Clavinova pianos boast excellent playability and versatile functions, along with a refined, authentic design that blends a compact form with modern aesthetics in a manner befitting the instrument that sets the contemporary standard for pianos. At the heart of the design is the way the player feels when they take their seat in front of the instrument. The CSP-255 has a simple, stylish design that incorporates elegant piano-like curves and utilizes the absolute minimum set of controls.
Grand Expression Modeling
The interaction and interplay of the hammers, dampers, and strings inside a grand piano respond to the subtlest nuances of your touch, creating a limitless range of tonal expression. The Grand Expression Modeling introduced in the CSP-200 Series translates the widely varied input from your fingers into the same limitless tonal variation of a grand piano. This makes it possible to vary the output by playing the keys to different depths and with different speeds, even when using techniques such as trills or legato, or emphasizing the melody over the accompaniment.
Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial Voices
Clavinova grand piano sounds are recorded from several world-renowned concert grand pianos. One of them is the CFX, our top-flight concert grand piano. Another sampled concert grand is the Imperial, the flagship model of Bösendorfer. Yamaha faithfully reproduces the idiosyncrasies of these concert grand pianos by carefully recording the entire tonal range of each of the 88 keys.
Virtual Resonance Modeling
Clavinova pianos elaborately reproduce this rich sympathetic resonance through a groundbreaking technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM). VRM creates a richly varied sound by simulating the complex sympathetic tones created when the vibrations of the strings are propagated to the soundboard and other strings, corresponding to the timing and intensity of key playing and pedaling.
Binaural sampling for authentic piano sound, even with headphones
Binaural sampling is a groundbreaking method of simulating sound in which special microphones capture the piano the way it sounds in reality. This helps to create the ambience and the full, natural resonance of acoustic pianos in Clavinova pianos, making you feel as though you are sitting at a grand piano, even with headphones on.

Connect wirelessly for Bluetooth® audio
You can play music through the audio system on the CSP-200 Series by using a Bluetooth-enabled smart device. You can also stream audio such as mp3s, as well as play along with your favorite songs on your smart device.
Bluetooth® MIDI
This convenient wireless connection between the instrument and the Smart Pianist app (on your smart device) lets you fully focus on your playing and enjoy music without worrying about cables.
USB Type-C connection
A USB cable (Type-C to Type-C) is included, and users who have a Smart Device with a Type-C terminal can conveniently connect the instrument to their smart device with a single cable.
Microphone connection
You can enjoy karaoke backing with songs stored in your Clavinova or downloaded on your smart device. Plug in a microphone, and you can sing along with your playing. The Vocal Harmony engine creates advanced sounding harmonies, enriching your voice.
Multi-track song recorder
The recording function featured in Clavinova digital pianos allows you to record your performances with a single touch. Additionally, you can record up to 16 tracks for simultaneous playback, so different parts of the song can be recorded separately or overdubbed parts with different voices.
